Iran ranks among world’s top three radiopharmaceutical producers - TV BRICS

Iran has emerged as one of the leading global producers of radiopharmaceuticals, manufacturing around 70 types and serving over 6,500 nuclear medicine centers. This advancement, reported by Mehr News Agency, has decreased the country's reliance on imports and established Iran as a regional authority in nuclear medicine. Since starting domestic production in 2009, Iran now satisfies its internal demand, covering 230 hospitals, and exports to 15 countries, generating approximately $70 million in revenue in 2025. Radiopharmaceuticals play a crucial role in cancer detection and treatment by using radioactive tracers to identify tumors earlier than traditional imaging methods.
